The Politics of Conservation

This colloquium will probe the past and present histories of museums, nature and species conservation, protected areas and national parks. By focusing on the“politics of conservation,” the talks will critically examine the narratives, knowledges and technologies of conservation and its colonial and neocolonial contexts: What is conserved, how, and by whom? And who benefits?
