Meryem Coskun

studies art history and lives in Berlin. She is a student research assistant in the project.

Meryem Coskun studies culture and technology at the Technische Universität Berlin and is majoring in art studies. She has been a student research assistant in the project “Museums and Society – Mapping the Social” in the Modern Art History department of the Technische Universität Berlin since 2022. After completing her bachelor's degree, she plans to continue with a master's degree in art studies. Her studies focus on the visual arts of the modern era and contemporary art, provenance research, and collection history. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of her studies, she is also interested in communication, graphics and web design, and gender sensitivity in art research.

In the project “Museums and Society – Mapping the Social,” Meryem is interested in the way that collaboration between universities and museums reveals a network of overlapping contexts that make invisible knowledge visible. Moreover, she is interested in the development of alternative models that can be used to understand museum collections from new (social) perspectives and that realize alternative forms of knowledge transfer and allow them to take effect.
